The main concept behind this project is the creation of space through the density of a repeated object. Although one can see through a bookshelf without any books on it, if there are many bookshelves in front of it at varying angles and positions, then the view is obscured. Additional, if a bookshelf is full with books, it would also obstruct the line of sight.
Another part of this assignment was to create a path for commuters to easily move through the space, and a large open area for public events. For this purpose I included a ramp that leads underneath large stadium seating (also comprised of a ramp, instead of steps).
